Why should we study the Bible? What’s the use reading a book written thousands of years ago?
1. To learn who God is
God reveals Himself in the Bible. The only way to learn who God is, is to read the Bible.
2. To gain wisdom from the ultimate source of Wisdom.
We can learn what’s right, correct wrong thinking, and receive guidance through the Bible
3. To know how to follow Jesus!
You cannot follow someone you do not know. If you want to follow Jesus, you will need to get to know Him and the Bible is the only source of revelation about Jesus.
4. In the Bible we find our ultimate meaning, our purpose.
5. To be equipped for doing good work (2 Timothy 3:17)
6. To know God’s will for our lives.
7. To be equipped for Spiritual warfare! (Ephesians 6:11)
8. The Bible deals with a wide variety of life issues.
Reading how God leads others trough this or how they solved it can be a great help!
9. It Will Bless You! (James 1:25)
10. Last but not least: it will guard you against false teachings.
